If you have a professor using this book today my advice is to drop the course. Any engaged professor today would not use a book published in 2007 especially in an industry constantly shifting. This book lacks focus and fails to present the reader with a clear and well defined interpretation of human resource management. In reading the book I constantly encountered the author indicating that the material discussed would be addressed in a later chapter providing the information presented in an incomplete and irresponsible manner lending to some of the material being misinterpreted. Additionally, this book does not contain any answers to the questions at the end of the chapters. The publisher has provided an incomplete book so as to force the reader to additionally purchase online access for an fee to be provided with the answers to the review questions at the end of the chapters.Product details

The book came really fast, however the book was very "beat" up. The book had heavy higlighting marks in all different colors. The book had Pencil and ink markings on a number of pages. The book was dirty and somewhat nasty.

A book of definitions. Better off just using the internet. If your teacher says you need this, he or she is lying to your face.
It did a great job of protecting my desk from dust.
As far as the seller goes, perfect, the book was as described, got her very quickly and was reasonably priced.
This boom is missing chapter 1.
It came a day later than stated, it’s a little beat up, and smells of dirty hippie. I’m pretty sure someone used incense as a book mark-It’s pretty gross to sit here and study from it, I literally can taste the smell.
To start, the book I received was in excellent condition despite it being a used book so I give great credit to the company that shipped it. Bravo folks! It arrived quickly and in better condition than I thought it would.
Now on to the book, it's not a bad book but has a few glaring failings. The first is that the first chapter is entirely a summary of what's to come so terminology and meanings can get lost on the reader. It's like a cliff notes version of the rest of the book that has just enough substance that you should read it. What's worse? I got tested on that chapter in my college course. So I had to jump to other chapters of the book reading things way ahead of where I should just to infer the meaning behind the paragraph descriptor. Not good.
Secondly is the thing that really annoys me. There are sections and keywords in the book that do not appear in the book. Quite literally, I was looking for a particular study and found that the words do not appear anywhere in the book save the glossary. The glossary is supposed to tell you where to find things, not be the only location of the word. It was bad enough the instructor had to alter the question and gave me extra credit for noting it doesn't exist. This was the most glaring example but it happened a few times. The editor of the book should also be set down and instructed how to break down pages. MANY times there were unfinished paragraphs with maybe a sentence left that were placed alone at the top of the page under some huge graphic so as to be easily missed.
The actual text was pretty decent as far as the information given but I blame the publishing company and the editor for it's failings. It gets 1 star off for me receiving extra credit for a book failing and 1 more for being the first annoying college text I've read on a layout level.
